The History Channel’s historical series Vikings (2013-2020) was extremely popular and also aired on Netflix. Following on from the success of Viking Ragnar (Travis Fimmel), Netflix created the spin-off set a century later in 2022 Vikings: Valhalla. The series is now set to end after season 3 and joins recent Netflix cancellations.

As Variety reports, the days of Leif (Sam Corlett), Harald (Leo Suter) and Freydis (Frida Gustavsson) are numbered. Even before the series even started, Netflix took a risk with Vikings Valhalla and ordered 3 seasons in 2021. However, the many negative fan reactions to the release indicated what has now been confirmed: after season 3 it’s over. The parent series Vikings lasted 6 seasons.

Jeb Stuart, who created the Netflix series Vikings Valhalla, made a statement about the series ending:
I’m so grateful that we had 3 seasons to tell the stories of Leif, Harald and Freydis. I knew from the beginning that I was in the series the evolution of three of the most famous Vikings into the icons we know todaywanted to show. It is not clear from his words whether the creator of the Vikings spin-off had hoped for more than the 3 seasons (which were fixed from the start). But at least the last season shines on you Conclusion without a cliffhanger to run out:
