Many fans groan when Netflix cancels another promising series after just one season. The streamer often uses the first few episodes of a new format to test its success. Netflix is overturning the business model for a series with a horror star
As Deadline reports, only a pilot episode will initially be produced for Little Sky. That marks an amazing shift in strategy for Netflix. Since there have been original productions on the streaming platform, a whole season will be produced immediately after a successful development phase. This also means that the first episodes always represent a kind of test run that can be ended immediately if the series is canceled.
In Little Sky, an aspiring young reporter (Weaving) sets out to investigate the disappearance of the mayor of Little Sky Village. Perhaps the success of the series is heavily dependent on the chemistry between the stars, which Netflix wants to test with the pilot episode. However, it is not known whether the pilot system will establish itself with streamers in the future. Changing the model could cause the Reduce frustration from fans who are upset about cancellations after the first season.
