Netflix loses one of its best horror series ever in

Tabula Rasa is from psychological thriller above Haunted house horror up to Missing Mystery a lot, and above all worth your time. The reviews and film portal ratings agree on this.

While a no-longer-banned horror shocker becomes available on Netflix this month, the streamer loses on March 31, 2023 Tabula Rasa. So you only have a short time to catch up on the miniseries there.

Horror binge Tabula Rasa is ‘truly terrifying’ and ‘your next Netflix obsession’

The 9 part horror thriller from Belgium appeared in 2017 and, despite its 6-year existence, has less than 200 ratings on Moviepilot. For comparison: The Sinner from the same year has over 1,500 reviews. Tabula Rasa has an extremely high 7.4 for horror series on Moviepilot, even an 8.0 on IMDb and an audience rating of 95 percent on Rotten Tomatoes.

This is what Tabula Rasa is about: The story revolves around Mie, played by the widely acclaimed Veerle Baetens. In a car accident, she loses her memory and is even admitted. she has a particularly insidious form of amnesiain which she clearly remembers the tragic accident, but hasn’t been able to remember anything new since then.

The series is packed with so many twists and genres that it’s best not to research the plot before watching.

The reviews and voices of users on film portals are really hyping the unique thriller. Chris Barton writes for the LA Times that tabula rasa “your next Netflix obsession” is:

[Die Serie sollte] be the first stop for anyone in need of a spooky, atmospheric binge.

The blog We Minored In Film warns, “only one or two episodes at a time to digest”.

“A truly terrifying thriller” is tabula rasa according to Jade Budowski at Decider. She brings her convincing conclusion to the point:

Strong performances, eerie visuals and a rich setting all combine to create a thoroughly entertaining horror thriller in miniseries form.

In her review, she also goes into the only point that is now and then naggingly noted: Tabula Rasa is too long-winded.

[Die Serie] may test your patience, but tabula rasa is the kind of thriller that makes you really rewarded for it in the end. The portal member Puredarkstar also notes on the IMDb that it is a slow burner is, that is, a narrative that is slowly but steadily condensing. But the satisfaction at the end is extremely great:
If you watch a lot of horror/thrillers/mystery, you will [das Ende] appreciate.

Samishoward confirms that the horror series has a “with all the twists, levels and hidden connections” holding on to the pole:

Smartbo raises the at Moviepilot leading lady once again in particular, which is praised in almost all reviews:

A truly exciting and captivating series in which Veerle Baetens provides a brilliant performance in the lead role as Annemie. Wow. I’m not a big fan of superlatives, but applause lends itself to such an acting performance.

There is good news for everyone who regularly visits German media libraries. Because even if Netflix loses tabula rasa, you can still watch the horror pearl Stream for free in the ZDF media library.
