The streaming platform is offering more and more live shows and a new one is coming.
Netflix has been around for several years and its catalog continues to vary. Films, series and now sport: the streaming platform offers a wide range to try to satisfy as many people as possible. Obviously, Netflix is not free and many people cannot access this catalog.
With its successful series on Formula 1, Drive to survive, Netflix launched an attack on the sport a few years ago. Since then, the programs have followed one another with, in the same category, a series each year on the Tour de France, but also now on the 6 Nations in rugby or even basketball and the NBA.
The platform now goes even further by offering live shows such as tennis or even fights… And a new show will appear in the French catalog in the coming weeks with wrestling and the famous WWE program, Monday night Raw.
Raw officially arrives in January 2025, January 6 very precisely in the words of Cody Rhodes, the current WWE Champion. WWE and Netflix have concluded a rather pharaonic agreement worth five billion dollars for the next ten years for the broadcast of WWE Raw in the United States. Other WWE shows (SmackDown, NXT and Premium Live Events) will also be present.
For the moment, the date of January 6, 2025 will not be retained for the French broadcast on Netflix because WWE has announced that the latter will begin at the end of WWE’s current contracts in the countries, such as AB1 and ABXplore in France and in Belgium.
Conclusion, WWE shows will arrive on Netflix in France, Belgium, Switzerland and everywhere else, but you will have to be patient since it will be at the end of their TV contract. Furthermore, with this contract, the managers clarified that if WWE launches a new show, it is not guaranteed to be on Netflix. The platform will have the chance to have the project presented first and will be able to decide whether they want to pay extra to have it or leave it to other broadcasters.
