The filming was supposedly in Romania “logistical challenges” tied together. Further details are not known. However, house actress Jenna Ortega hinted before the start of season 1 how stressful the production was – one of many criticisms.

In Romania we started training and filming straight away. We didn’t have time for rehearsals. It was very stressful and confusing. I did my best, but it was the most overwhelming job I’ve ever had.

The production problems were never directly linked to the Romanian location. Last but not least, the relocation of the set to Ireland makes it clear that the crew and Jenna Ortega were dissatisfied with the conditions there.
