For a month and a half, Resident Evil staggered through the landscape like a zombie. The Real series from the popular game franchise has been eagerly awaited by fans. Now Netflix is putting them out of their misery: The streaming service is using it Sci-Fi Horror again after only one season and thus an end point under the failure story.
After harsh criticism: The end of Resident Evil is only logical
It started with the first reactions. “Poor execution, awkward performances and barely working fan service”, Collider analyzed. AV Club criticized the “complete absence of horror” in the “Action Adventure drudgery”. On the other hand, there were some positive voices. But that didn’t change anything disastrous overall picturewhich also reflected on the rating platforms after the start of the series.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, the pure audience numbers were acceptable. However, Resident Evil cashed in on the biggest aggregators hearty slaps. On IMDB, the series has an embarrassing 3.9 – such a rating is extremely rare, if not unique, for a series with a franchise connection and relatively high production costs. At Rotten Tomatoes, too, the audience only gave a total of 26 percent positive ratings. The overall rating on Moviepilot, on the other hand, looks almost moderate: 4.3 points come together.
Did Resident Evil really deserve the hate? The question is now irrelevant. The series will not continue. Of course, the zombie franchise itself does not end there, after all it has been producing games, films and also animated series for decades.
