The new series by Sherlock creator Steven Moffat has been streaming on Netflix since October 31. In Inside Man we meet Stanley Tucci as a death row Sherlock who, from his cell in the US, becomes involved in the fate of a woman imprisoned beneath an English vicarage.
Running just four episodes, Inside Man delivers an entertaining binge full of gruesome twists and suspense. Even though the mind game with Pastor Harry Watling (David Tennant) is finished at the end, A post-credits scene surprisingly sets the stage for a second season.
Inside Man Credits Scene: A new case for Stanley Tucci’s Death Row Sherlock
The first season of Inside Man fuels a wacky and shocking overall package and brings all the storylines together in the escalating finale. In the end, the math tutor Janice (Dolly Wells) can be freed from the clutches of the psycho pastor Harry, who ends up behind bars. The series seems complete. But then an end credits scene follows, that one Backdoor for season 2 opens.

In the post-credits scene, Janice visits manipulative ex-criminologist and wife-killer Jefferson Grieff (Stanley Tucci) in prison, where he solves seemingly unsolvable cases from his cell. However, not to say thank you for her liberation. She wants the”Death Row Detective” helps her track down and kill her seemingly dead husband. There is not much time left for this new case, because Grieff is to be executed in a week.
But why does he accept this assignment at all if it does not seem to have any moral value and therefore does not correspond to the previously established criteria? So there’s enough potential for a gripping and grueling second season. It could also finally provide answers, why Grieff actually killed his wife — and where her severed head is hiding.
Inside Man season 2 is not planned – but not impossible either
Even if the end of the thriller series heralds a second season, it is Continuation currently not plannedInside Man creator Steven Moffat, known for his work on series like Doctor Who, Sherlock and most recently The Time Traveler’s Wife, reveals in an interview with Radio Times:
The story ends after four episodes. After that she is done. Do I have a Spin-off or a sequel could imagine? That I don’t know at the moment.
In any case, Moffat is keeping an option open for Season 2 with the post-credits scene. Whether Inside Man will continue with new episodes, now depends on the success of the series. Fans can eagerly await a decision from Netflix and the BBC, who are behind the series together.
