That’s what The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina is all about
At first glance, Sabrina Spellman (Kiernan Shipka) leads a completely normal teenage life: She grows up in the small town of Greendale in the care of her aunts Hilda (Lucy Davis) and Zelda (Miranda Otto) and visits them with her friends Baxter High School.
At second glance Sabrina is half witch, half human and therefore stands between two worlds: the human world of her friend Harvey Kinkle and the magical world of witches. As soon as Sabrina turned 16, her aunts asked her to join their occult community.
Sabrina takes on the impossible challenge of wanting to be a part of both worlds. A decision that brings with it a lot of magical chaos and often puts Sabrina and her friends, whether human or supernatural, in danger.
Between worlds: Sabrina Spellman has to choose between magic and humanity
The character of Sabrina Spellman was not filmed for the first time with the Netflix series. Originally based on the comic series Sabrina, the Teenage Witch, the series was adapted for television in the 1990s as a fantasy comedy series. A few years later there was also an animated series that also refers to the character Sabrina Spellman.
This was followed by The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, a comic series from 2014 that took a darker look at Sabrina Spellman and her world. Final This comic series served as a model for the series of the same name on Netflix.
This new adaptation of Sabrina’s adventures has remained true to the morbid tone of the second comic version. The series is dark, adventurous and wastes no time in introducing its diverse characters.
