With a Netflix subscription you can now stream the documentary sequel Our Planet II. The new episodes of the series are again about the life of different animal species that are facing major challenges due to climate change.
In an interview, the producer and director of the Netflix format talked about how dangerous the rotation of Our Planet II was for the crew.
Netflix documentary crew attacked by hungry sharks
Speaking to Radio Times in June, Toby Nowlan detailed that the Netflix team filmed the first episode Observe a special seabird for six weeks and wanted to film. A particularly voracious shark got in the way of the crew:
Water poured towards us and this tiger shark jumped on the boat and bit huge holes in it. The whole boat exploded. We tried to get him away but he wouldn’t. It was terrible. That was the second shark that attacked us that day.
Nowlan describes the shark’s behavior as extremely unusual and explains in the interview that it must have been a very hungry specimen. The attack went well for the Netflix crew. The holey boat was located 100 meters from landwhich everyone could certainly achieve.
