Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu spoke at the opening session of the Knesset (Israeli parliament). Netanyahu likened the conflicts between Israel and Hamas to the war between darkness and light and said, “Even though 75 years have passed, the war of independence has not ended.”

Saying “We will win, because our existence here is in danger,” Netanyahu stated that lessons were learned from the surprise attack launched by Hamas on October 7 and said, “The reasons for the disaster that occurred will be investigated and we have started to draw conclusions.”

Calling on the world to unite to defeat Hamas, Netanyahu gave a harsh warning to Hezbollah in Lebanon and Iran and said, “Do not try us, you will suffer great harm.”

“OUR CHILDREN WERE KILLED”

Speaking after Netanyahu, opposition leader Yair Lapid stated that Israel will continue its operations against Hamas even if there is international pressure, and said: “It will take time, a lot of force will have to be used. If the world doesn’t like it, then don’t like it. “Those who were killed were not the children of the world, our children were killed,” he said.

“OUR GOAL IS TO WIN THE WAR AND BE BETTER THAN BEFORE”

Stating that he will support the war cabinet established in the country from outside, Lapid promised that Israel will eradicate Hamas and said, “It is impossible to live next to a terrorist group.”

Emphasizing that the existing reality must change, especially for those living in the Gaza border area, Lapid said, “Our goal is not to end the war and return to our old situation. Our goal is to win the war and be better than before. “Our goal is to restore trust between this parliament and Israeli citizens,” he said. (IHA)
