Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu dissolves the war cabinet that was established when the Gaza war broke out last October.
Netanyahu announces that he will continue to consult in a “limited forum” regarding particularly sensitive decisions, writes the Israeli newspaper Haaretz.
The war cabinet was already an increasingly limited forum, with opposition leader Benny Gantz quitting last week in protest at Prime Minister Netanyahu’s handling of the continued war in Gaza.
At the time of the dissolution decision, the war cabinet thus consisted only of Benjamin Netanyahu and his defense minister and party colleague Yoav Gallant.
