On the night of Thursday last week, a powerful explosion occurred in the middle of a residential area in Hässelby. Joakim and Pär are two of those who were forced to leave their homes and say that they feel completely powerless.
– We just live here and want our homes back, says Joakim.
The row of terraced houses was built in the 1970s, but when it is to be renovated now, it must be built to today’s standards. Since the houses then become more modern and, according to the insurance companies, worth more, the residents themselves must bear part of the cost. In insurance terms, it is called an age deduction.
– You live in a vacuum, but there is always the question of the chattels, says Joakim.
“It can’t happen like this”
What the sum ends up being for this row of townhouses is still unclear, but it could be hundreds of thousands of kroner.
– It can’t happen like this and if it turns out like this, we shouldn’t have to fight like fools to get some kind of help, says Pär.
