Neighbor Martin about the hand grenade in Gottsunda: “Getting worried”

The day after the National bomb shelter defused a sharp hand grenade outside an apartment building in Gottsunda, a piece of police tape is visible on the lawn.

On the ground by a residential gate lies sand that the bomb shelter used and by the gate there are soot stains. The window to the door is reinforced with tape.

– We had been in town and were met by blue light personnel. The entire courtyard was cordoned off and no one entered. After a few hours we heard a loud bang, says neighbor Martin Johansson.

– Last spring we also had a shooting at an apartment on the farm, so it feels absurd. You get worried.

Children’s party in an apartment

On the other side of the courtyard lives Amina Berhanu, 32. On Saturday, she had a children’s party with five children to celebrate her daughter’s second birthday when the police knocked on the door.

– We had taken birthday pictures and were about to cut the cake when the police came. They told us not to go out on the balcony and we went from the TV room to a smaller room away from the yard. We kept calm for the sake of the children, she says.

– I came from Eritrea to Sweden six years ago. We have always thought that Sweden is peaceful… So it just feels boring.
