Neighbor dispute results in charges against Norfolk woman

A dispute between neighbors in Simcoe resulted in one person facing an assault with a weapon charge.

Norfolk OPP responded to a reported dispute on Woodway Trail at about 6 p.m. Sunday.

Two people were involved in the disagreement and one person was physically assaulted, said police. There were no injuries reported.

A 58-year-old woman was arrested and charged with assault with a weapon. She is scheduled to appear in court in Simcoe later this month.

Disputes between neighbors are nothing new, and this is not the first time such a disagreement has resulted in charges in Norfolk County.

HAS dispute between two neighbors in Turkey Point in April resulted in charges against a 63-year-old Norfolk man.

Norfolk OPP reported that one person was threatened and sustained minor injuries after being assaulted. A second person was charged with assault, and uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm.

In March, an argument between neighbors on Adams Ave. in Delhi ended up with a 60-year-old man facing charges.

According to police, the man, suspected of being impaired, was involved in an argument and attempted to leave in a vehicle.

Police took the man into custody and he was later charged with failure or refusal to comply with a demand.

Last November, Norfolk OPP investigated anneighbour dispute on Gibralter Street in Delhi.

Police at the time said a “heated verbal dispute” reached a point where one individual was accused of uttering threats.

In that case a 47-year-old Norfolk man was charged with uttering threats to damage or injure an animal.
