Leksand extended the winning streak beat AIK

The book provides “intimately personal perspectives on the violent revolution in Iran in 1978. In the spirit of Vilhelm Moberg, she portrays people’s vulnerability and togetherness while on the run, and provides images of the geopolitics of the time, the background to a new uprising and the ties to new generations in Sweden,” it says in jury motivation.

Smålit’s migrant prize of SEK 50,000 was awarded for the first time in 2019 and recognizes writers who work in Vilhelm Moberg’s spirit “by depicting the human destinies that lie behind the great migrant movements of our time”.

Previously, Pooneh Rohi, Nora Szentiványi, Balsam Karam and Maxim Grigoriev have received the award.
