Needed care all waking hours – spotted dancing in music video

The man reportedly claimed he had severe disabilities after he was severely injured by a bomb in his former homeland. To cope with his everyday life, he therefore needed assistance allowance so that his relatives could provide care from morning to night.

The man applied for support from Umeå municipality, where he claimed to live, and was paid almost five million kroner between 2014 and 2017.

But in 2017, the municipality began to suspect that he did not live in Umeå at all, and filed a police report.

In the subsequent investigation, the police establish, among other things through account statements and testimony, that he apparently lived in Märsta during the period. Even the relatives who are supposed to have been his assistants were registered there.

Claimed at five million

Now the man, and the three relatives, are charged with having cheated on benefits by lying about their place of origin. Something UNT be the first to tell.

The man is suspected of serious crime of contribution and is being asked to recover the millions he has been paid. He himself means that he has lived in Umeå as he stated.

TV shows music videos

But in the investigation, it is not only the man’s place of residence that is questioned, but also the need for care.

Umeå municipality has provided material to the police where the man participates in a TV program and several music videos, where he sings and plays music.

The municipality believes that in the clips he makes movements that can be questioned based on the sickness certificates he submitted in connection with the granting of assistance.

Suspected of having exploited the secrecy between municipalities

According to the preliminary investigation, the man must also be suspected of systematically changing municipalities when he was refused or withdrawn assistance. Former municipalities include Uppsala and Gothenburg.

Since secrecy is great between different municipalities, previous decisions about withdrawn assistance allowance should not have come to light when the man moved.
