Need to relax during the lunch break or just pass the time? Google Lance Block Breaker, an old-fashioned brightness game game available for free on the search engine. Be careful, it’s addictive!
Google is your friend to help you find anything and anything on the internet … including games! Indeed, for years, the developers of the firm have been enjoying disseminating many small fun programs on web pages and in certain apps. They appear in the form of a “doodle”, instead of the Google logo for certain occasions. But it is possible to access some of them by typing the name of the game in the search engine of the Mountain View giant.
For the most part, these are games inspired by the titles of the 80s, very colorful and simple to play, in the spirit of the arch games of yesteryear. And, above all, they are completely free and accessible with any web browser. It is thus possible to play at PAC-Man, Snake, Solitaire, Morpion, Dominator, Space Invaders, etc. In total, thirteen games are available (see our article). The latest is none other than Block Breaker (Bricks in French), which is directly inspired by the classic Breakout d’Atari, which is itself a variant of the legendary Pong.
Block Breaker: a free but addictive free game
Just look for “Block Breaker” on Google for a box to appear with a “Play” button. By clicking on it, the game starts in the full screen. The principle is well known: it is a question of breaking colored blocks, which evoke those of a prison, using a bullet which bounces on the sides of the screen and on the racket which controls the player, in order to mark as many points as possible. A new series of blocks appears after each level completed.
The interface is minimalist and takes up Google’s color code, with blue, red, yellow and green blocks. The score is displayed at the top of the screen, and the player has three lives at the start. The game introduces special bricks offering different improvements: some modify the trajectory of the ball by making it faster, slower or capable of crossing the screen, while others add balls to the screen. The racket can see its size grow, reduce or even freeze temporarily. Simple, but addictive!
Block Breaker is available on computer and mobile, via the Google site or the Google app on Android and iOS. On smartphone, the racket is controlled by pressing the screen directly while, on computer, use the left and right arrows of the keyboard. Guaranteed pleasure!
