Need to know the battery level of your iPhone at a glance and without going through the Control Center? It’s possible again thanks to iOS 16… but not for all iPhone models!
Until 2017 and the arrival of the iPhone X with its large notch, iOS presented next to the battery icon, the level of remaining energy in percentage. Alas, the imposing notch of the iPhone X got the better of this information. It took up too much space at the top of the screen. The battery level was then gone on all iPhones. Apple is reviewing its copy with iOS 16 available since September 12. Among the novelties and improvements, the indication of the battery level is making a comeback. Apple has found the trick to display it: integrate it directly into the battery icon at the top right of the screen. We note that it still took five long years of work to achieve this discovery. But don’t rejoice too quickly. For undetermined reasons, not all iPhones compatible with iOS 16 can benefit from this indication. The iPhone XR, iPhone 11, iPhone 12 mini and iPhone 13 mini are thus excluded. On these devices, you will therefore have to continue to go through the Control Center by sliding a finger down from the upper right edge of the screen.
For all other iPhones with iOS 16, a small tweak is enough to display this information in the status bar.
How to show iPhone battery level in status bar?
Displaying the iPhone battery level in the status bar at the top right of the screen is not enabled by default. Here’s how to implement it.
► Open iPhone settings. From the options given, tap on Battery.
► Simply turn on the Battery Percentage switch at the top of the screen. The remaining charge level is then immediately displayed in the battery icon.
