The plot of Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer, inspired by true events
Director John McNaughton’s film is set in Chicago and revolves around Henry (Rooker), who lives in a run-down apartment with his friend Otis (Tom Towles). When Otis discovers that Henry is secretly a ruthless serial killer, he becomes an accomplice.
The plot is based on the case of real-life serial killer Henry Lee Lucas. The American killed, among other things, his own mother and, along with his accomplice Ottis Toole, numerous other people. Lucas himself once stated that it was over 3,000 should have been, but this number could never be officially proven.
