In the clip, Alexei Navalny’s widow, Yulia Navalnaya, promises that she will reveal more details about her husband’s death shortly. Among other things, she claims that she and Navalny’s allies know why he was killed, and who did it.
– Putin killed Aleksei because he couldn’t break him, she says.
She also states that Russian authorities are deliberately hiding Navalny’s body, and that the authorities are waiting for traces of the nerve agent Novichok to disappear from his body before allowing an examination.
– They killed half of my heart and soul when they took my husband’s life, says Yuliya Navalnaya.
Calls for continued fight against the Kremlin
Yulia Navalnaya also calls on those who have previously supported her husband to “continue to fight the Kremlin with even more fury than before.”
– I will continue my husband’s work. I want to build a free Russia, she says.
She asks Navalny’s allies and the opposition in Russia not to give up.
– Through him, he wants to kill your hope, your freedom and your future. Destroy and destroy the main evidence that Russia can be something else, she says.
Kristersson: Sweden proposes new sanctions
Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson (M) is currently in Warsaw to discuss, among other things, the EU’s support for Ukraine. During a joint press conference with Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk, he brought up Navalny.
– Russian authorities and President Putin personally bear full responsibility for his death. Russian authorities must be held accountable and Sweden will propose that the EU consider new sanctions against Russia as a response to the country’s violations of human rights, he said during the press conference.
He also expressed his condolences to his family, and to those fighting for political change in Russia.
– The best way to honor Alexei Navalny’s memory is to maintain support for Ukraine, he said.
