The opposition leader who died in Russia last Friday To Alexei Navalny mother Lyudmila Navalnaya says he finally saw his son’s body. Navalny’s spokesman Kira JarmyÅ¡ has shared a Youtube video in the social service X, in which Navalnaya talks about the matter.

Navalnaya says he got to his son’s body at the mortuary in Salehard, northwestern Siberia.

– Last night they secretly took me to the morgue, where they showed Aleksei to me, Navalnaya says in the video.

According to Navalnaya, the Russian authorities do not agree to hand over Navalny’s body. According to Navalnaya, the authorities demanded a private, secret funeral by order of the Kremlin. Navalny also says that the authorities demand to be able to decide where, when and how Navalnyi will be buried.

– They want this to be handled secretly, without concessions. They want to take me to the edge of the cemetery to a fresh grave and say: here lies your son. I don’t agree to this, Navalnaya says.

Navalnaya says that the coroners threaten to do something to his son’s body if he does not agree to the terms of the funeral.

The authorities in question did not respond to the Reuters news agency’s request for comment.

Navalnyi died last week in a prison in Siberia at the age of 47. Jarmyš says in a separate X publication that according to the death certificate shown to Navalnyi, Navalnyi died “naturally†.

JarmyÅ¡ has said that he believes that the Russian administration is trying to hide Navalny’s cause of death by pawning the body. For example, JarmyÅ¡ and Navalny’s wife Yuliya Navalnaya have said that Navalnyi was murdered.

It has been said that Navalny’s prison conditions were very harsh.
