(Finance) – “For the nautical sector we have foreseen a fund of 3 million euros for the scrapping of endothermic nautical engines and the purchase of electric thrusters valid for the whole of 2024, therefore a significant incentive towards the transition to electric”. Thus the Minister of Business and Made in Italy Adolfo Urso, speaking in connection with the General States of Pleasure Boating conference taking place in Naples: “The critical issues of companies in the nautical pleasure supply chain, the leading sector of Made in Italy”.
Furthermore, explains the minister, there is also “a reduction to 7 days for issuing the navigation license for new boats. Today we are competitive with other countries. Another rule that simplifies the non-compulsory registration for vessels under 10 metres, for those wishing to sail beyond 12 miles from the coast”
Three dates to remember: 20 December 2023, the day of approval of the Bill on Made in Italy which sets the date of 15 April each year to celebrate the National Day of Made in Italy, and then 20 February 2024, when it will come into force funding for the replacement of endothermic marine engines with electrically powered engines is in force: this is what emerged at the States General of Pleasure Boating, organized in Naples by Afina, which, as mentioned, had the minister as guest on the final day of the works Adolfo Urso. “The provision of the bill has been in force for a few weeks – began Minister Urso – and addresses the general problems of Made in Italy companies of excellence. For the nautical sector, simplification and acceleration measures are envisaged which the sector deserves. We have foreseen a bottom dthe 3 million euros for scrapping dand endothermic nautical engines and for the purchase of electric thrusters, valid for the whole of 2024, and therefore a significant incentive to also move towards the transition towards electric – the owner of the Dicastery said in a video link -. The reduction of the terms for issuing the navigation license for new boats to just 7 days, instead of the 70 previously foreseen, is another important step that makes us more competitive today.
Without to forget another rule cwhich simplifies the non-compulsory registration of vessels under 10 metres, if the owners wish to sail beyond 12 miles from the coast: also in this case competition from countries on the other side of the Adriatic is avoided; and, again, the release of the document that allows vessels, without having to register, to navigate in the territorial waters of other countries”.
News that the audience of nautical entrepreneurs, gathered to listen to the proceedings, applauds with pleasure, first of all the president of Afina, Gennaro Amato: “Finally something is moving and we are happy to be able to speak with you too on the problems of nautical after the meetings with ministers Musumeci and Santanché. I officially ask you for an appointment at your Ministry to discuss common roads.”
