Naughty versions of Nintendo characters are in danger because someone asks the boss the wrong question

The “inappropriate” use of characters from video game developer Nintendo could soon come to an end. At an investor conference, Nintendo’s president was asked what he thought about the Nintendo brand being used in such an “inappropriate” way.

That was the question: At Nintendo’s 84th annual investor conference, the 15th question in the open shareholder question session was about the inappropriate depiction of Nintendo characters (via nintendo):

I understand that Nintendo sees itself as a company that wants to bring smiles to the faces of everyone it touches. Unfortunately, I sometimes come across cases on social media where Nintendo IP and games are used in inappropriate ways. I believe this type of behavior risks damaging the value of Nintendo’s intellectual property and I would like to know how you handle such cases.

Nintendo President announces appropriate measures

This was the President’s response: The boss said he did not want to go into individual cases, but that “appropriate measures must be taken” against such behavior.

The company values an environment in which everyone can enjoy the games. Therefore, it will make “every effort” to combat anything that makes people uncomfortable. And not just in games, but in everything that has to do with Nintendo.

Inappropriate Nintendo content is sometimes brilliant

What does that mean? Inappropriate content clearly refers to sexually explicit versions of Nintendo game characters that can be found on social media, so-called fan fiction.

There are always pictures of Princess Peach scantily clad. Peach apparently not only drives Bowser crazy, but is also a popular subject for cosplayers.

In the worst case, it could even mean a 10-year-old video of “Egoraptor”.

In the video “Luigi’s Ballad,” Luigi sings about his love for Princess Peach. It sounds nice and harmless at first, until his brother Mario comes along.

He can’t control himself and makes one ambiguous remark after another about what he wants to do with the princess. In the video, the plumber shows off his “hot salami” and the “mega mushroom” and Peach has to think about which mustache she wants to ride on.

In the end, as much as we can reveal, she decides not to choose either of the two brothers.

Was the video meant to be an “inappropriate use of Nintendo IPs?”

The last public discussion about Princess Peach’s attraction to everyone’s favorite snake king Bowser was during the Super Mario Bros. film. Jack Black, as Bowser, sang the song Peaches with such fervor that many people immediately took him to their hearts. But the song had some difficult undertones: Song in the new Super Mario film sparks controversy over toxic turtle behavior – intended to normalize macho behavior
