The police and the government agreed that in the beginning of 2025 Sweden was in a new wave of violence, but now the police believe that the situation calmed down.
– We have managed to cancel the wave of violence as it seems here and now, says national police chief Petra Lundh in SVT’s morning studio.
During January, 32 blasts occurred, especially the Greater Stockholm area.
Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson (M) called the many explosives “domestic terrorism”.
According to Petra Lundh, several strikes have produced results.
– We have worked very intensively and we have made different forms of strikes, including bombers, she says, adding::
– The police work is incredibly important to interrupt the wave of violence and what we can see today has calmed down.
