In recent years, Star Wars has leaned more and more into nostalgia for the prequel trilogy – not just in animation, but in live-action as well. The highlight for now was probably the Obi-Wan Kenobi series with Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen. But that could now change.
According to a new rumor, the third star of the prequels will also return in a future Star Wars project: Natalie Portman. She starred as Padmé Amidala in all three prequel films. The former queen and later senator of Naboo seems to be a desired character for the second season of Star Wars: Ahsoka.
Star Wars dream for prequel fans: Natalie Portman is set to return as Padmé Amidala in Ahsoka Season 2
The Natalie Portman rumor comes from Kristian Harloff, who was on the pop culture site Collider’s Jedi Council for a long time and has since gone into business for himself. He often shares Star Wars scoops on YouTube. Just last week his live stream was about the return of Ewan McGregor as Obi-Wan Kenobi.
According to Harloff, no contracts have been signed yet. However, Portman is about to do so. Last but not least, Ahsoka creator Dave Filoni is doing everything he can to make the appearance in the second season possible. According to Harloff, this would most likely take place as part of a sequence in the World between worlds plays.
The world between worlds is a place that is detached from space and time. We first saw him in Star Wars Rebels. Most recently, he appeared in Ahsoka and enabled the return of Anakin Skywalker. If we put all the puzzle pieces together, we’re probably in for a big prequel reunion.
Prequel characters rumored to be returning in Ahsoka Season 2:
The crucial question is: Can we trust the rumor? Harloff has proven himself to be an expert in the Star Wars area in the past and is well connected. However, as with all scoopers, we should treat the information with caution, no matter how promising and consistent it sounds. Nothing has been officially confirmed yet.
