It was in the 89th minute that Dost, who had scored the first goal of the match, apparently collapsed lifeless. Players from both teams quickly rushed over and formed a ring while the medical staff attended to him.
Minutes later came a reassuring message – Dost was conscious. He was carried out on a stretcher and was able to raise his hand and thank the crowd for their support.
– Bas was gone for a while, but they revived him. Paramedics from both teams did a very good job and they deserve compliments for how quickly they intervened, says Nijmegen general manager Wilco van Schaik.
