It is in the competition moment “Flaggfältet” during the upcoming episode of the acclaimed SVT program “Master of Champions” that the accident happens. Joel Lundqvist seriously knocked off Tony Rickardsson and is forced to hospital during the giant drama.

He may have taken a lot of hits in his hockey career but never a round like this from a speedway icon. Rickardsson grabs hold of a flag and brings the whole heavy wooden colossus with it, which goes up into the air and smacks Lundqvist in the face.

Joel is seriously knocked down and starts bleeding immediately. At the same time, the other participants become very worried about what has happened.
– Oh, you bastards! How did it go!? Hello?, shouts Anja Pärson which sees exactly what is happening.
– Shit then! It was straight to the point.
“Was a big hit”
A badly congested Joel Lundqvist receives immediate medical attention and Rickardsson is quickly there to see how he is doing.
– Hell! My flag was stuck. I hit Joel in the head with that one. Damn, it just clicked, says Tony in the TV show.

The Swedish hockey legend is then forced to go to hospital with a serious bump on his forehead.
– I immediately felt that it was a big blow, but I felt clear and whole in my head. I have had quite a few facial injuries and have known when things are in the wrong place. It could have hit worse, says Lundqvist in the SVT episode.
The new episode of Mästarnas mästara is broadcast on Sunday evening at 20.00 in SVT.
