The death threat made her feel uncomfortable and announced in a post on social media that she was thinking of taking a break from politics.
– Some journalists thought I dropped out as a candidate, but I just took a break last week and processed what happened, says Nasteho Mohamed (C).
Many have contacted us
– What I noticed when I was threatened was that people got in touch. Many I still haven’t answered. Somewhere we all want to protect our democracy and our society and those who threaten are those who cannot stand that we in Sweden work for equality, says Nasteho Mohamed (C).
Doesn’t stop in the first place
– There will always be those who are against me as a person, as a black woman from abroad and as a Swedish Somali. But when someone comes up and says “I’ll kill you” then I don’t know what to do. But I will never give up just because someone thinks I don’t belong here, fit in or dislike my political issues, says Nasteho Mohamed (C).
