NASAs Mars vehicle Perseverance has achieved this too Record of

The Perseverance rover was sent to Mars by the US National Aeronautics and Space Agency. Perseverance, also known as the rover reconnaissance vehicle, managed to perform the longest distance walk on Mars with a distance of 245.76 m. Thus, he broke the record for the longest distance walk on Mars.

According to the news on Space.com, the Jet Propulsion Laboratory research institute announced that the Perseverance rover has successfully continued its self-driving operation on Mars.

In a statement made on NASA’s Perseverance Mars Rover Twitter account, it was reported that the rover made its longest ride, covering 245.76 meters in a single day on Mars.

PERSEVERANCE IN MOVE

In the statement, it was stated that the vehicle started to move after exploring the region for a few months and was able to travel more and more every day thanks to its self-driving function.

In 2015, NASA announced that the Opportunity rover on the Red Planet made its longest run at 214 meters.

The Perseverance rover, built at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory in California and powered by plutonium fuel, landed on Mars on February 18, about 7 months after launching on July 30, 2020.

For the realization of Perseverance’s new mission on the Red Planet, which has the most advanced technological features among the vehicles sent to Mars, 2.4 billion dollars was spent on infrastructure works, and 300 million dollars was spent on the system that makes it possible to land and operate the vehicle.
