At a height of 98 meters, the rocket, including the space capsule Orion itself, is taller than the Statue of Liberty. The crew is waiting in a hangar at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida for repairs. Fuel leaks and other problems became apparent during NASA’s launch tests. NASA technicians now assure that all problems are solved, but the weather can still be an obstacle.
The first, unmanned journey will be for three months. If all goes well, according to the plan, the first manned trip around the moon will take place in 2023 and 2025, Nasa hopes to be able to place astronauts on the moon again. The last time this happened was in 1972.
