NASA introduced Specially designed More modern and flexible

The newest of the lunar suits were displayed at the Johnson Space Center in Houston at an event for media and students organized by Texas-based company Axiom Space, which was contracted by NASA to manufacture suits for Artemis, the successor to the Apollo Moon program.

NASA Director Bill Nelson said the new spacesuits “will offer more people the opportunity to explore and do science on the Moon than ever before.”

THE NEW SPACE CLOTHING IS VERY DIFFERENT FROM THE OLD!

The outfits that Artemis astronauts will wear on their way to the Moon will look very different from the bulky spacesuits of the past.

The new suits, called the “Axiom Extravehicular Mobility Unit” by Axiom, or AxEMU for short, are compared to the old Apollo suits. more modern and flexible is said to be.

NASA stated that these garments are designed to fit a wide range of potential wearers, including at least 90% of the US male and female population. They will also include advances in life support systems, pressure suits and avionics.

However, the exact appearance of the garments has remained a closely guarded trade secret. The exhibits feature a charcoal gray outer layer with orange and blue stripes on the chest and the Axiom logo to hide the company’s proprietary outer fabric design.

“THEY WILL HAVE WHITE COLOR”

However, the company said the clothing worn by astronauts at the Moon’s south pole will be white because it is the best color to reflect harsh sunlight on the Moon’s surface and protect the wearer from extreme heat.

Houston-based Axiom isn’t the only designer brand Artemis astronauts will be wearing for years to come. NASA has also contracted with Collins Aerospace to manufacture spacesuits that will be worn during future spacewalks on the Moon and outside the International Space Station.
