Nasa had to cancel the launch of the moon rocket planned for Saturday again, when a dangerous leak was found in the fuel system of the launch vehicle. They tried to fix it twice, but the leak could not be stopped and eventually the whole launch attempt had to be stopped.

The Artemis program is a long-term project of the United States Space Administration, the goal of which is to send people first to the Moon and later to Mars.

The launch of the launch vehicle carrying the Orion capsule from the Kennedy Space Center in the United States failed earlier this week due to an engine temperature problem.

The launch planned for Saturday is the first of NASA’s new SLS launch vehicle. The Artemis I flight is supposed to take the unmanned Orion capsule first into orbit around the Moon and then back to Earth.

The first manned lunar flight was made in 1969. The whole world, including Finland, watched the astronauts’ historic flight with keen eyes.

This year marks 50 years since the last manned flight to the Moon. Apollo 17 landed on the Moon in December 1972.

The first manned Artemis flight is scheduled for 2024.

You can watch NASA’s press conference from Friday here.

According to the Finnish Mars researcher, you should only go to Mars to visit. Listen from Tiedeykkösen:
