Namibias polling stations open again after election chaos News

The actual voting day ended on Wednesday night in a chaotic manner and the election commission ordered some of the polling booths open again.

In southern Africa, some of the polling stations for Namibia’s parliamentary and presidential elections have reopened. Those entitled to vote can vote on Friday and Saturday in 36 polling stations around the country.

On Wednesday, the chaos of the actual election day soured the mood in the otherwise peaceful Namibia, as logistical and technical problems prevented large numbers of people from voting. The main opposition party suspected that his language was fraudulent.

On Wednesday, some voters stood in lines for up to 12 hours without being able to cast their vote.

The SWAPO party, which has ruled the country in elections since independence, is closer than ever to losing its dominant position, when the Namibian youth, like the youth of many other African countries, no longer appreciate the parties brought to power by the independence struggle.

In Namibia, 42 percent of eligible voters are under 45 years old.
