From April next year, citizens of about 30 states who did not previously need a visa to visit Namibia on a short-term basis will now have to obtain one upon arrival. The reason: the lack of reciprocity, while it is much more complicated and expensive for Namibians to obtain visas to travel to the countries concerned. But the move is controversial within the tourism industry.
