When Lars and his wife bought a plot of land in Eslöv, the priority was to build a house. The old kiosk that stood on the site would have to wait for a refurbishment.
– Where we would build a house, the plots are insanely expensive. We had to adapt the house to the other villas on the street. We had to choose bricks that were three times more expensive than regular bricks, so we said we’ll take the kiosk later, and then we forgot about it, says Lars Ralevski.
“Didn’t expect that”
Last year, Skånska Dagbladet’s readers named the old kiosk as Eslöv’s ugliest building. Something that Lars admits hurt a little to hear.
– They were not expected to enter private plots.
Chose to renovate
After the building was designated as Eslöv’s ugliest, Lars Ralevski chose to tackle the renovation of the building. Something that has been met with positive reactions.
– It has been great fun. People appreciate it. This is a way of showing that we don’t have to demolish all old buildings, you can do a lot to preserve the old. It has only been positive.
