Mystery book from Chatham author features Rondeau Park

A Chatham author’s upcoming book will take readers to Rondeau Provincial Park and the wineries of Essex County

Kelly Young will release Wines and Whines, the first entry in her Travel Writer Day Trips Cozy Mystery series, Feb. 28.

The self-published book will feature two stories which each take place over one day. The new series is a spinoff from another series, which featured the same main character but had longer stories set over one week.

The first of the two stories is called Wine and Crime, which finds the character Casey Robertson, from the original series, and her friends on a winery tour through Essex County. The mystery centers on a missing piece of jewelry belonging to another person on the tour.

Dognapped and Trapped, the second story, is set at Rondeau Park. While on a day of cycling with her husband, Casey encounters a retired detective named Ed Wosley, who was featured in the other series. Now operating a private detective business, Ed is investigating a slew of dog thefts at the park.

The cover of the book features a photo of one of the wineries on top and a photo of Rondeau Park on the bottom.

“This book took me a little longer to complete,” Young said in a statement. “I wanted to get it just right, without losing the light-hearted dialogue that the first series became known for.”

Young’s Travel Writer books are currently available at Turns & Tales in Chatham and at the Chatham-Kent and Bruce County libraries. She plans to donate a copy of the new book to the local library once it is released.

Young’s books can be found in e-book, paperback or hardcover by searching for Kelly Young on amazon.ca.
