Mysterious poo statue appeared before the US election

Two political statues have mysteriously appeared in Washington DC ahead of the US election.
Among other things, a desk statue topped with poo in bronze.
“It brought back some of that anger that’s gone away now that we’re going into a really contentious and possibly dangerous election,” Maryland resident Grace Denman said of the statues to
CNN.

In recent weeks, two political statues have been mysteriously placed in Washington DC. Last week, a bronze statue of former Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s desk — topped with the poop emoji — appeared along the National Mall near the US Capitol.

Pelosi’s desk was one of the most iconic images of the January 6 uprising. When a Donald Trump supporter storming the Capitol was photographed with his feet on the desk.

On Monday, a bronze statue of a tiki torch appeared in Freedom Plaza, just a block from the White House. The statue is called “Donald J. Trump’s Enduring Flame”. It will mock the former president’s defense of the far-right protests in Virginia in 2017 where a woman died.

“Reminds me of how angry I was”

Many tourists and passers-by have gathered at the statues to read the artist’s messages and to take pictures.

– It reminds me of how angry I was about January 6th and the death in Charlottesville because of the white extremists. It brought back some of that energy and anger that has been lost over time now that we’re going into a really contentious and possibly dangerous election,” Grace Denman, a Maryland resident, told CNN about the statues.

But not everyone thinks like Grace Denman.

According to Washington DC resident Paige Muller, “a lot of people think it’s inappropriate.”

The statues will not remain until election day. The desk is scheduled to be removed on Wednesday and the torch a day later.
