SEEN IN 12 CHILDREN

According to the news in The Jaruselam Post, in the statement made by the Ministry of Health, it was noted that cases of hepatitis (liver inflammation) of unknown cause were reported in 12 children at Shaare Zedek Medical Center and Israel Schneider Children’s Medical Center.

It was stated that the cause of the said cases is being investigated by the Ministry.

On April 18, the ministry sent a letter to health workers in the country to report cases of acute hepatitis of unknown cause.

IT WALKED TO EUROPE AND THE USA

It has been announced that the hepatitis virus, which has been seen in 74 children in England since the beginning of this year and the cause of infection cannot be determined, has also spread to European countries and the USA.

In the statement made by the European Center for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC), it was reported that the same cases of hepatitis in England were detected in some children in Denmark, Ireland, the Netherlands and Spain.

Data on the number of hepatitis cases in these countries were not shared.

On the other hand, in the US state of Alabama, it was recorded that 9 children aged 1-6 years had adenovirus, which was found in one of the hepatitis cases in England and affected the upper respiratory tract.

It was shared that the cause of the hepatitis cases in these countries is unknown and that ECDC continues to investigate the source of the hepatitis virus in these cases with its local partners, especially the World Health Organization (WHO).
