The two French artists lent their voices and set music to the new Sidaction campaign clip.
Mylène Farmer and Woodkid unite their voices – and their music – against HIV. This Monday, March 18, Sidaction unveiled its new campaign clip to fight and call for donations against the disease, narrated by Mylène Farmer and set to music by Woodkid, who lent his song for the occasion Reactortaken from his latest album, S16published in 2020.
“For 30 years, facing HIV, we have not stopped. We have not stopped crying, we have not stopped looking, we have not stopped asking, we have not stopped reassure, tremble, love yourself”, lists Mylène Farmer from the first seconds of the video. Video which includes various archive images, notably of the actions of activists and Sidaction, or television sequences such as the one where Clémentine Célarié kisses an HIV-positive man on the mouth live or when Line Renaud declares that “France is at war against a virus.”
“For 30 years, we have not stopped moving forward. So, after everything we have done, we have no right to stop,” continues Mylène Farmer in this clip, which ends with a call for donations: “Let’s continue the fight. Make a donation.”
Sidaction, which will celebrate its 30th anniversary on March 22, 23 and 24, announced in a press release its collaboration with “these two artists committed to the fight against AIDS.” A commitment that dates back several decades: in 1999, Mylène Farmer notably donated the profits from sales of the clip – on VHS – of the song I give you back your lovei.e. the receipts from 30,000 copies, at Sidaction.
