The influencer My Martens, 35, is one of many influencers promoting CBD oil. On Instagram, My has over 50,000 followers, and in a promotional post on Instagram, My Martens listed various diseases and other ailments that she believes can be alleviated by CBD oil.
My Martens writes that she is “extremely selective with the brands she supports”. Now the company behind the CBD oil she promoted has gone up in smoke. Image source: Stella Pictures.
Neither the Swedish Medicines Agency nor the Swedish Food Agency have approved CBD oil in Sweden, which means that it cannot be marketed in the way that My Martens has done.
In the post, she writes, among other things:
“CBD oil suits EVERYONE!
Some of the benefits that I and many other users experience:
Improved sleep quality
Reduction of stress and anxiety
Relief of tight muscles and joint pain
Reduced pain from menstrual cramps
Strengthened immune system”

Camilla Gervide who runs Blogbevakking has spoken to a senior regulatory investigator at the Medical Products Agency, and he says it is a “clear violation” of the Medicines Act.
Gervide writes that she read My’s advertisement to the investigator, and then Gervide was told that it is strictly forbidden to claim that a preparation that is not approved as a dietary supplement or medicine is marketed in the way that My did.

According to the investigator at the Medical Products Agency, there are several dangers in using CBD oil without a doctor’s supervision. It can lead to liver damage, and if it is used during pregnancy, there are risks of damage to the fetus, writes Blogbevakning.
The company Arktis has disappeared from social media
Camilla Gervide contacted My Martens for a comment. In a message to Gervide, Martens wrote, among other things, that she “doesn’t believe anything until there are concrete facts” and that she “avoids third-hand information”.
– I also offered My to call and talk to the manager herself to get first-hand information, but she didn’t want that, says Camilla Gervide to News24.
The company Arktis, which My has advertised for and signed an agreement with, previously had a little over 100,000 followers and almost 600 posts on Instagram.
But after Camilla Gervide drew attention to the illegal advertising, they have now deleted all posts and removed their user.
