Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 brought some interesting new gadgets. However, MeinMMO editor Maik Schneider only has eyes for the inflatable soldier. He affectionately calls him “bubble buddy” and want you to befriend him too.
Already in the beta of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 I knew after 5 minutes that I actually only want to use a certain field upgrade. These are gadgets in CoD that have a cooldown.
While browsing through the menu, I discovered the field upgrade “Inflatable Decoy”. I could put the part directly into Loadout, so I didn’t have to reach a certain level for it.
As soon as I put the equipment together, my imagination played ping-pong about what I could do with it. Because it is an inflatable soldier that can be placed anywhere on the battlefield.
Even now, more than 3 months later, buddy bubble is still a staple of my kits. And with the many easy kills I’ve been able to get with this thing, I sometimes wonder why anyone would use anything else.

Inflatable Decoy – Never knew I wanted this
With the full release of Modern Warfare 2, my first route was also to the loadout menu. Check the field upgrades directly and then complain in the chat.
Because the inflatable decoy can only be unlocked at level 49 – just before the end of the level phase for equipment in Call of Duty. A hard blow straight to the spleen.
But when I finally got it, all of my expectations were met, even exceeded over time. I thought: “If the part is known, nobody will fire at the strange, motionless soldier”.
puff cake! To this day, buddy bubble works great for distractions of all kinds. Combined with flash or smoke grenades, these are almost professional decoys with military standards.

Whether against snipers, head lights, on objectives or just when I’m thundering around a corner – the inflatable soldier won’t let me down. Unlike many other players, who run past dog tags in Kill Confirmed mode with an unabashed matter-of-factness.
Sometimes the gadget even works too well and fools me. But even that doesn’t bother me at all – because it makes me smile every time. And in the current state of CoD, I’m happy about every moment that I have something to laugh about in the game.
By the way, with the drill grenades I recommend you another new gadget that goes perfectly with the inflatable soldier.
I know Dead Silence is wicked strong as well, as is the Trophy System, and the placeable cameras can be really helpful too.
But what I’ve already experienced with the buddy bubble in CoD MW2 can probably be compared to the adventures that Spongebob and his own bubble buddy have had (via youtube.com). I won’t give it up anymore!
