MWC 2022: Realme announces its high-end GT 2 Pro smartphone with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1

MWC 2022 Realme announces its high end GT 2 Pro smartphone

The manufacturer Realme made an important announcement at Mobile World Congress 2022: the arrival of a high-end smartphone, which embeds the latest SoC Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, from Qualcomm, accompanied by 8 or 12 GB of RAM and up to 512 GB of storage.

The GT 2 Pro benefits, according to Realme, from the very first 2K AMOLED (3216 x 1440 pixels) 6.7-inch flat screen, with LTPO 2.0 technology. Thus, the adaptive refresh rate is variable between 1 Hz and 120 Hz. The screen offers a color depth of 10 bits (1.07 billion colors) and a maximum brightness of 1400 nits.

The terminal is also distinguished by its triple rear photo module. The main module (f / 1.8) has a 50-megapixel Sony IMX766 sensor, with optical image stabilization for photos and electronic stabilization for videos.
The 50-megapixel ultra-wide-angle (f/2.2) module benefits from a high field of view of 150 degrees, with the possibility of using a fisheye mode.
Finally, the macro module offers a magnification factor of x40. The front camera has a 32-megapixel Sony IMX615 sensor.

Power is provided by a 5,000mAh battery, with 65W wired fast charging (full in 33 minutes). For the operating system, Realme uses its in-house UI 3.0 interface based on Android 12. It promises to offer major updates for three years and security patches for four years.

The GT 2 Pro will be available on March 11 from 749.99 euros. The manufacturer also offers a less powerful model, the GT 2 with the Snapdragon 888 SoC and an AMOLED E4 panel, from 549.99 euros.

A 50% charge in just 5 minutes

Realme also took advantage of the Barcelona show to share its progress in fast charging. Thanks to the UltraDart Charging Architecture (UDCA), it will be possible to use powers of 100 to 200 W without overheating for the terminal (less than 43 degrees) and protecting the longevity of the battery (80% capacity after more than 1000 complete cycles). The first smartphone with this technology will be the GT Neo 3 with its 150 W charger.
According to Realme, its battery will be 50% charged in just 5 minutes. However, the manufacturer has not announced an availability date for its GT Neo 3.
