The first season of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 brings a Christmas event and brings new challenges and rewards for Warzone. Don’t worry: the multiplayer shouldn’t go away empty-handed.

In just under a week the time has come: On December 6th, Season 1 for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 and Call of Duty: Warzone will be released on all platforms. Start is at 6 p.m. German time.

In addition to three new maps and new content for Zombie mode, there will also be a new map for Warzone – Urzikstan. And that’s where the CODMAS event takes place within the first season, including thematically appropriate maps and modes. We’ll tell you what to expect there.

Juggernaut Santa and deadly snowballs

What kind of event is this? According to the CoD website, the CODMAS holiday event is intended to bring new challenges and rewards to the Urzikstan map in Call of Duty: Warzone. Some are visible, others hidden.

  • “Slay Ride Resurgence” Limited Time Mode: The mode is intended to be a celebratory edition of Resurgence – the faster take on battle royale where you respawn instead of ending up in the gulag if you’re shot down by an enemy. “A series of surprises” should also await you there.
  • Deck the Halls: Gifts are distributed all over Urzikistan in so-called “holiday boxes”. When players interact with the boxes, a flare will be sent out – so be prepared for battles over the gifts. The players who can hold the point the longest are supposed to meet Santa Claus – “or at least something that used to be Santa Claus,” they say.
  • Zombie Santa: If you receive a key from “Deck the Halls,” a “Happy” portal will appear. If you use this, you can take on a zombified Juggernaut Santa. If you defeat this evil incarnation of Santa Claus, you will be rewarded with valuable loot.
  • Slay Ride: Santa Claus has taken over the train in Urzikstan and is handing out gifts to all the good players he meets. However, you will face strong resistance if you are not good.
  • Snowball fights: Everywhere in Urzikstan you will find deadly snowballs as ground loot, which are shown as a snowflake symbol on the map. (We imagine these snowball fights to be a little more chaotic and dangerous than the ones we know.)

    Will there also be event content in multiplayer? In the 12 days that CODMAS is scheduled to run, there will also be a new challenge for the multiplayer of CoD: MW3. This could then be similar to the previous events. At the events you have so far been able to farm XP in the matches and unlock rewards for it.
