Elon Musk writes on Twitter that he is stepping down as the company’s CEO as soon as he has found a replacement:
“I’ll step down as CEO as soon as I find someone stupid enough to take the job! After that, I’ll just lead the software and servers workgroups.”
On Monday, Musk posted a question on the platform about whether or not he would stay on as the company’s CEO. 17.5 million voted, of which 57.5 percent answered yes. Before Monday’s vote, Musk announced that users will be allowed to vote on major policy changes on Twitter.
The announcement came after the ability to link to several competing social media sites was removed from the platform. The move drew criticism, even from users who previously supported the new owner’s way of running Twitter.
