Elon Musk’s so -called efficiency authority Dogge wants access to sensitive information about millions of US taxpayers.
It reports the Washington Post with reference to several sources with transparency.
According to the information, the IRS tax authority, through pressure from the White House, is considering taking measures that would give Dog-employees access to systems that contain, among other things, detailed information on taxes regarding both private individuals, companies and non-profit organizations.
It would also mean the possibility of both adding and changing existing transactions.
The news comes at the same time as approximately 150 million Americans are completing their declarations, which will be submitted by April 15.
According to experts, it is extremely uncommon for politically appointed officials to be given access to private individuals’ tax tasks.
– The information available at the IRS is very personal. Someone with access to it could use and publish it, or do something with it or share it with someone who in turn can share it with another someone else and then the person affected has had their rights offended, says Nina Olson, previously high Posted lawyer at the IRS, to the Washington Post.
Dogge is not an actual ministry but a “temporary organization”. As head of it, Musk has gained tremendous power, including access to the Ministry of Finance’s payment system, without a formal official status or usual trial in the Senate.
