Mushroom picker found head in the forest: “Cause of death not determined”

After a mushroom picker found what was suspected to be a skull, a police patrol was sent there, who were then able to confirm that it belonged to a human. With the help of cadaver dogs, the police found more remains that led to the identification of the man.

– It turned out to be a man who was reported missing in Sundsvall almost exactly four years ago, says Magnus Jansson Klarin, spokesperson for the police.

The matter is being investigated as a murder or manslaughter, and the cause of death has not yet been determined.

– We have been in contact with relatives as it was suspected that it could have been this person. Now it is confirmed, says Magnus Jansson Klarin.
