Museum wants to return objects to Bolivia

Leksand extended the winning streak beat AIK

The State Museums of World Culture wants to return archaeological objects to the indigenous people of Bolivia.

It is about the so-called Nino Korin collection, which the then director of the Ethnographic Museum in Gothenburg bought on the spot in Bolivia and brought out of the country in 1970.

Both Bolivia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the indigenous Kallawaya people have requested the return of the objects, citing that they were brought to Sweden in violation of Bolivian law.

The government must make the final decision on the matter.
