Monday June 3, 2024, a 21-year-old young man was shot and killed in Saumur (Maine-et-Loire), in front of a kebab shop on Avenue du Général De Gaulle around 6:15 p.m. Indeed, a shooting broke out on the main axis of Offard Island, causing one person to report it. A financial debt against a backdrop of drug trafficking?
According to information from France 3 Pays de la Loire, “the perpetrator arrived by car. He was able to escape by the same means. He is actively sought by the police.” And according to the first elements of the investigation, the motive would be a money debt. A police source tells BFMTV that the dispute could be linked to drug trafficking.
“Several shots” were fired “on the public highway” for a money debt, of “between 80 and 100 euros” which “would at this stage be unrelated to drug trafficking” according to the prosecution. The suspects fled in a vehicle that had been rented, a source told BFMTV. Placed in police custody yesterday evening, the owner of this vehicle was ultimately not involved, his custody was lifted.
