A 30-year-old woman who was shot to death in a home in Växjö in December may have been the victim of a misdirected revenge attack, reports P4 Kronoberg. This is shown by data in another investigation.
A 22-year-old Swedish man, who was recently arrested in Turkey, is suspected of having instigated the murder in the Teleborg district in Växjö.
The deed may have been revenge for an attack on the 22-year-old’s family in Stockholm this summer, when one of his relatives was shot in the leg.
In chats included in the investigation of that incident, the 22-year-old expresses thoughts of revenge, according to P4. The man who the police believe was the real target in Växjö appears in that preliminary investigation in connection with money transfers.
The revenge then did not go as planned but was directed at the wrong people, according to P4. In addition to the woman, whose life could not be saved, a man in his 30s was slightly injured in the shooting.
The 22-year-old was arrested in Turkish Bodrum on January 17 after being internationally wanted by Sweden.
Since earlier, a teenage boy and a teenage girl have been detained on suspicion of having carried out the attack in Växjö.
