Murder in the Verdon gorges: when he was a minor, Bruno Wolkowitch got involved with an older woman and ended up in prison

Murder in the Verdon gorges when he was a minor

Bruno Wolkowitch is an omnipresent actor on television, but very discreet. However, he has already confided in a juicy anecdote…

Bruno Wolkowitch stars in the TV movie Murders in the Verdon gorgesscheduled for November 9, 2024 on France 3. In this new opus of the eternal Murders in…he plays Major Thierry Rouvier, close to retirement, brought to collaborate with the young captain Elie Zakine (Gary Mihaileanu) on the murder of a 78-year-old man. The body was found on the Castillon dam, in the magnificent setting of the Verdon gorges, in a strange position. The duo will soon be joined by Chloé Delage (Barbara Probst), a psychocriminologist from the gendarmerie, who lived in Castellane, and is none other than the daughter of Major Rouvier.

A coincidence that doesn’t necessarily make things right, because she and Thierry have a complicated family relationship. An anonymous letter and a second murder, also staged, will bring to light the roots of the affair from the distant past. Past which properly concerns Thierry and Chloé directly. In Murders in the Verdon Gorgesthe investigation will in fact shed light on the disappearance of Paulin Rouvier, Thierry’s father and Chloé’s grandfather, fifty years earlier…

Murders in the Verdon Gorges therefore offers Bruno Wolkowitch one of his countless television roles, and this time places him at the top of the bill. The 62-year-old actor, more accustomed to supporting roles, remains a figure as familiar to viewers as he is discreet on red carpets and in the media. So much so that the general public ultimately knows little about him and his private life. However, he had indulged in a surprising confidence a few years ago on the set of the show The Original Soundtrack of Nagui.

“She was an adult while I was a minor…”

Asked to reveal a “hidden nugget” from his career in 2015, he then admitted to having served 17 days in prison abroad when he was younger. The reason? A love story as incredible as it is risky. “For romance, I protected a fiancée in a foreign country. She was an adult while I was a minor, so I told myself that I would get out of it quickly. And I went to prison in her place”, he explained in 2015 with a smile.

This mishap took place in Israel, and the couple was then arrested for possession of drugs. A small deviation in conduct, far from typical trafficking, which has nevertheless resulted in Bruno Wolkowitch being banned from staying in the country for life, as if he had been arrested for “large drugs” in his words. “I didn’t use, it was so she wouldn’t have sex with Midnight Express,” he joked in reference to the famous film about Turkish jails, directed by Alan Parker from a screenplay by Oliver Stone and based on the true story of American Billy Hayes.

The young Bruno Wolkowitch, madly in love, wanted above all to avoid prison for his sweetheart, who was older than him. An anecdote recalled several times during the appearances of this modest actor, which has the merit of slightly cracking the smooth image that we know of him.
